jprime welcome to GE. It's fun looking at the world from your swivel chair and wondering what exceptional things you might find in these series of satellite and aerial photographic images.
Yes it looks like a fin, but there are two problems the fin is 27 ft across...wow and the color is white or near white. So which one could it be Absolutely Awesome Whales
Its all about discovery Have fun

lol, I was just about to correct you on that.
I don't think that's a whale, but you're not too far off the mark from where you could find one. The Stellwagen Bank, a whale sanctuary, is nearby (see overlay).
-------------------- PM me if you've found any petroglyphs you can actually see from the satellite image.

I'm glad to see that we have corrected the geography. Although Massachusetts and Maine were once the same state, that was a couple of centuries ago! I think it looks like a whale tale (not fin) and I've seen whales off this point on the Cape. In fact, the first time I saw some in the 1970s, I thought I was hallucinating because these white, ghostly figures were 'walking' across the water. Creepy. Then, my companion pointed out whales spouting. Phew. Thought I was seeing Cap'n Bellamy and the crew of the Whydah!

Compare the size of this to the fishing trawler just to the northeast in the brighter blue zone and you can see it's the right size to be a whale.
