Did that bug take a trip in the satellite camera, and is it laying eggs?

Isn't there a possibility that the bug was flying around and got caught in the zoom???

Wonderful finding for a first post. Congratulations !
This bug is really huge measuring almost 150 feet. This could also be one of the world's first bug which would have gone to space unofficially.
This is a great finding and must be placed on top of some forum or blog.

Yes, he states in the first post the measurement of the insect, but on the other point, "Space"?? I would have thought the resolution of the pics would more than likely been taken at a low altitude. So possibly not a space bug, Eh?

Interesting find - a first. It looks like a thrips, a very small (1mm or so) insect. The size might explain how it got involved in the printing process. The brown glob at the posterior end is bug poop , forced out of the poor critter as it got squished between a glass plate and the film during the scanning process. image from http://sacs.cpes.peachnet.edu
EDIT: I added an image of a thrips alongside for comparison - if anybody cares. EDIT: Thrips is the singular and plural - like fish, sheep or deer. (I just found this out from an article in Google Sightseeing which referenced this article) Wikipedia - thrips
