You have to view this one in Google Maps right now, it's not in the GE imagery. This was a helicopter caught in the new Australia Day photos.

Hi Frank
Cool! very nice capture.
It's a Sea King, maybe right this one if that picture has been taken this year.
Since it's not on GE, I'm not sure Cyc will add it to his Collection. This is the very first time someone posted an aicraft found on Google Maps rather than GE itself

Hey bebop, I figured I'd go ahead and post it since Google sent out an E-mail to everyone who signed up for notification on the Australia Day photography, and this helicopter was on the list.
Besides, since GEC now has links to either Google Maps, or GE versions of the placemarks - and since the databases always synchronize eventually - it seems valid to me to post Google Maps finds.

Hi Frank
It's a great find, probably the best capture of a helicopter ever on GE. So clear that we can see details. Plus we have a certain date, so the ID can be complete (see the picture above I linked to: same helicopter, same area, same day).
I was just wondering how Cyclonic could add it to his collection, since it was not on GE yet last week. Now GE imagery have been updated and your placemark has been added to the File.

The collection cant be viewed as a whole in GM, at least you cant open it with the link. So since its only available for GE viewers I cant really add a object unless it can be seen in GE. If I do ill get PMs saying theres no object there. I remembered this post because the chopper was so nice but if people post ahead of a GE update im sure to forget them, or not have the link handy and ill need to search through the back pages. But in this case i dont blame ya, thats a unforgettable gem!
