Let's see how much interest this gets. It's a selection of the most polluted toxic waste sites in the Desert Southwest of the U.S. If it seems popular, I'll do one for each region. I'm not going to try other countries, that would be a full time job. The U.S. has plenty of them anyway. But, if someone wants to share sites from there own country, or another, feel free to post 'em right here.
Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, & Arizona are covered in this section.
Oh yeah, forgot, I'm normally not including military bases, since they are ALL polluted anyway. Even with some help from me.  (This is why Nevada only gets 1 site.)

Here's the list for the Great Plains states of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, & North Dakota.
There are several more places in Nebraska & South Dakota, however, the resolution is often very low in these areas, so I left them out if you can't see anything.
Before anyone screams, some of these places have been deleted from the NPL of the Superfund, but either still contain stabilized contaminants, or were significant polluters before being cleaned up.

This set includes the Rocky Mtn. states of Colorado, Idaho, Montana, & Wyoming. There's lots of 'em in here & as expected, most are ex-military & mining related.

Thanks ya'll. Looks like there could be some interest in this subject, so I'll go ahead & complete all 50 states. I may not be able to complete a set tonight since I had stuff to do this evening, but I'll have the West Coast done by tomorrow, so that should close out the western-most U.S. Don't know which group I'll put AK & HA into, since California will take a L-O-N-G time. We'll see.

This group includes California & Oregon.
Due to the extreme number of toxic sites in CA, I decided to only include the 2 states.
Washington, which was initially going to be in this group, has an equally large amount of sites, so will be included with Alaska & Hawaii, which have few. That will work out good because I was unsure where I was going to place those 2 states.

Bunch of 'em in Washington, including some very interesting ones.
Now on to the East for a while.
