This thread contains data in Google Earth Format for the area affected by Cylone NARGIS in Myanmar (Burma).
The data presented here is not meant to be replace any official source. Please use the data below for review purposes only. Please be aware that the data presented below will not be up-dated and considerable effort is now underway to improve the accuracy of the data sets available. Users that require the most accurate data should refer directly to the appropriate international relief agencies (UN OCHA, WFP etc).
A lot of the data in this thread is derived from VMAP Level One GIS data for the area affected by Cyclone Nargis converted to ESRI Arcview format and then to kml. As far as I am aware this may be the best available GIS data for the affected area. This data was originally released by my old agency USGS for the Tsunami. Please forward the links to the data to whoever else needs it.
A link to retrieve the ESRI shapefiles for the VMAP Level 1 tile. THe link will expire in May 22 2008 and will be available for 500 number of downloads. Link: http://www.yousendit.com/download/TDJieW56QzdvQnMwTVE9PQ
