Gonna try and add all amateur radio satellites I can find data for. Weill probably add the SUN and MOON eventually. Earth kinda looks like a large ball of string. UPDATE: For those of you who remember this thread and the original KML/KMZ files I came out with, and for those who've never heard of our Google Earth Satellite tracking interface I'm re-introducing our files to the group. I've created a new KML interface to display live satellite data (including live position reports refreshing every 60 seconds) which is a significant improvement from our previous interface which only provided a snapshot every hour. This also includes orbital paths, actual pictures of the satellite (if available) and any data I could find on it. Our new KML files can be accessed a few different ways: 1. Point your web browser at: http://www.openaprs.net/satellites.html and once loaded click [google earth: satellites] which will appear right below the right hand input box and Go botton. -OR- 2. Point your web browser at: http://www.openaprs.net/engine/satellites/ You also have the option of finding a single satellite if you know the name: http://www.openaprs.net/engine/satellites/<NAME> Example: http://www.openaprs.net/engine/satellites/ISS If you'd like dates and times displayed in your timezone you can use this format: http://www.openaprs.net/engine/satellites/<TIMEZONE>/ http://www.openaprs.net/engine/satellites/<TIMEZONE>/<NAME> Example: http://www.openaprs.net/engine/satellites/America/Los_Angeles/ Example: http://www.openaprs.net/engine/satellites/America/Los_Angeles/ISS Timezones supported may be found at http://www.openaprs.net/timezones.html The orbits are calculated using current keplerian data sheets which are updated every day or so.
