My first post ever. It's a test but I'm proud of it, because nothing have been said before about my village and this terrible but still famous accident.

Some history for the youngests:

The R101 Airship was a British airship that crashed on October 5, 1930 at 02:09am in France during its maiden voyage, killing 48. The crash happened near Le Bois de Fecq, at a place called bois des Coutumes, part of the Allonne village .
At that time, the ship was the largest man made object ever to fly.

Hi Sultan, if you are interested in the R101 you may be interested in the memorial to the 48 who died which is in a village near me, Cardington.
See attached posting.

Also the giant hangers that the R101 was built and housed in still exist and are still used to make airships. They have also been used to make films in. Batman Begins was filmed there.
