Google Earth Community: New Google Earth layers release

We are pleased to announce new layers in Google Earth.

USHMM: Crisis in Darfur - by the US Holocaust Memorial Museum in collaboration with Amnesty International, Physicians for Human Rights, the US State Department and other humanitarian organizations. This set of layers depicts the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Darfur, Sudan, by showing the damaged and destroyed villages, documentary photos and video, with a link to a more comprehensive KML and information on the Museum's website. The Darfur layers are in the "Global Awareness" folder, and are turned on by default.

Trimble Outdoor Trips - by Trimble and Backpacker magazine, these are highly-rated user-contributed outings (hiking, mountain biking, canyoneering, climbing), collected via GPS, and including trails, waypoints, photos and audio/video. US-only for now. In the "Featured Content" folder.

100% Pure New Zealand - created by Tourism New Zealand, a geo-guide to the top-rated tourist destinations and scenic highlights of New Zealand. In the Travel and Tourism folder.
