The boatman of the Philippines

For many in the West recycling is a serious issue.



But for this Philippino boatman it's probably collecting rubbish for re-use that is a matter of life and death.

For each kilogram of recyclable plastic he pulls from this polluted river in Quezon City, east of Manila, it will net him around 5p.


Not sure of exact location.

I have heard and read about this before. Amazing that, not only do individuals do this but whole family's

It's shocking that we still in the 21st century, have people live like this.
