ultraike First Post Reged: 12/29/06 Posts: 1 Arctic / Global Warming       12/29/06 03:28 PM Edit   Reply   Quote   Quick Reply   I don't know if I'm in the right place f/ this - but after reading about the 41 sq. mile ice shelf that evidently broke off Ellesmere Island recently - I went to Google Earth - both to find Ellesmere Island if not an image of the ice shelf. I was surprised that Ellesmere Island didn't pop up on Google Earth - but it was even more surprising to discover that the ice has already disappeared from the arctic portion of Google Earth. Considering what's happening up there, and the relative importance for all of us - it seems like there's an opportunity for Google to help educate / inform the world about what's going on w/ regard to global warming.
