703 Lakes In New Zealand!

Over four days and with help from the New Zealand Geographic Placenames Database I have listed 703 small and large lakes in New Zealand. Some maybe invisible due to being masked by the darker shadows of mountains and some maybe blurred by the low quality of many areas. Some maybe incorrect due to the quantity of lakes in the amount of space making it difficult to locate the exact lake. Some may also be mistaken for patches of woodland as the colours are very similar. If you find this then the lake must be near anyway as the co-ordinates given are for a lake in an approximate area. Most are located on the two main islands however several are on the surrounding islands. Some lakes have already been listed by Google Earth however these names are quite far from the actual lake. Some names maybe different. These may be alternative names, alternative translations or spelling mistakes on one of the party's sides.

The lakes are all listed in alphabetical order so that they are easily accessed an organized.

If there is any problems, any lakes you want to get added, any changes you want made to the post then please note it down here.

Gidday Tourist... There needs to be a correction for your list of New Zealand Lakes... Green Lake is actually Lake Rotomahana ...I know this place very well

Lower Tama Lake
