Google Earth Community: Cottonwood Teepees, Coyote Buttes South, Az, USA

The Cottonwood Teepees are one of the most remote, but also most beautiful parts of the Coyote Buttes Wilderness Area. You can only get there by a very sandy and rocky dirt road, for which you definitely need a rugged 4WD. But even then, this will be an adventurous ride, and so it's not unusual, to get stucked several times in the deep and soft sand.
Don't expect to get any help from outside, because this road is controlled only occacionally by the BLM Rangers.
When you've finally (and luckily) reached the trailhead in the middle of nowhere, you need to hike a few more miles to the rocky Teepees of the Cottonwood Cove.

But the fascinating beauty of this area is definitely worth the effort, and so you can explore this playground for hours and even days, without becoming bored. You will find unique and filigree sandstone sculptures, which were formed over centuries by erosion.
