Pingos and polygons

Pingos and polygonal soil patterns are two features of the tundra of the far north. Both are caused by soil and the frozen ground beneath it. The area featured in this folder is the Canadian Arctic in the Northwest Territories. The imagery was captured in late summer, so an added benefit of the view is the autumn colors of the Arctic.
