Google Earth Community: White Trillium at Point Au Roche

White trillium (Trillium grandiflorum) blooms are abundant at Point Au Roche State Park in the spring. Most of them have the typical three petals, three sepals, six stamens, and three leaves, however, a few of the plants depart from this pattern. The blooms tend to exhibit varying degrees of pink pigmentation as they age. On the western side of Long Point, where it tends to be sunnier, pink forms are more common earlier in the season than on the shadier eastern side.
