Hayward Fault tour & GEarth on local news story

A very cool feature on the March 9, 2006 SF Bay Area NBC affiliate KNTV's news featured Google Earth in mapping out the very active Hayward Fault.

The USGS put the excellent placemark folder together, and I've taken the liberty of reposting it here. It has a "virtual helicopter tour" of the fault and a number of different sub-folders, including recent activity locations and photos of cracks and other telltale signs at various spots along the fault.

Not necessarily very comforting to those of us who live nearby..
