Possible impact site

Found this in May of 2006 while following the river to its source. It appears to be in an area that does not have/or had any volcanic activity like the Eastern part of the country. I sent an e-mail to a Professor of Geology at a Canadian University with the LAT and LONG of the site and asked him to take a look at it. His reply stated that it did indeed look like a possible impact site, but it would have to have an expedition sent to it so they could drill for shocked quartz to determine its origin. If anyone has any information on this, please e-mail me at vshawjr@satx.rr.com.
