Here is a challenge for you: Frank Lloyd Wright is one of my all-time favorite architects, and I'd like to document as many of his buildings as possible. Your mission (should you decide to accept it): post as many FLW buildings as you can find here -- I realize that many of them have already been posted, but old Frank was pretty prolific, so I know there are lots of "undiscovered" buildings out there. Enjoy! ----- So Long, Frank Lloyd Wright I can't believe your song is gone so soon. I barely learned the tune So soon, So soon. Architects may come and Architects may go and Never change your point of view. When I run dry I stop awhile and think of you. Simon and Garfunkel, 1969
Note: I have decided to begin adding the Storrer "Opus" numbers of Wright's works; example: [S.286].

Alexandria, Va.:
Here's a building to get things started, the 1940 Pope-Leighey House, a Usonian house now owned by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The Usonians were small, less-expensive homes FLW designed for the "common man," as opposed to his no-expenses-spared buildings such as Fallingwater. Originally located in Falls Church, the house has been moved twice, and is now open to the public for tours.

Fallingwater

Easily the most famous of FLW's creations, this architectural wonder sadly escaped the high-resolution coverage. As such I could not precisely find it, but I found an about 1 mile x 1 mile area where it could be.
If anyone can find precisely where it is, let me know.

Cody, Wyo.: Wyoming's one and only FLW house was built east of Cody in 1952-53 for druggist Quintin Blair. Another Usonian design, the soaring wall of glass at one end faces east, in the opposite direction from the spectacular mountain view. My parents attended a few Christmas parties at this house, and I was always dying to know what it looked like inside. The trees have grown up around the house so it's no longer visible from the road. Unfortunately, the area is in low-res, but maybe someday...
