This big hole in the ground is 570 feet deep and 4,100 feet (1.25 kilometers) across. It was blown into existence 50,000 years ago by an asteroid roughly 130 feet (40 meters) wide. Find a good discription at Terrestrial Impact Craters Web site. Although this meteor crater was posted previously, I added a KML Photo Overlay.

Note: This post uses PhotoOverlay and requires Google Earth v4.2 (beta) or higher.
