I thought the same thing, dgt. It's just too realistic to be an accident. Easy to get away with, too, because it would be almost impossible to see the whole picture at ground level! I imagine airline crews have a good laugh, too.

Hi Diane,
It's the motto of The Order of the Garter and roughly translates as "Shame upon him who thinks evil of it"
A modern translator would have problems with since it's in Old French, from the 14th century.
However, Google is your friend and it'll pick it up on the first hit, if you want to know more about this ancient order and how it was named!
