If you're a serious plane spotter, then it's a good idea to download the latest copies of 2 files - Satellite Capture of Aircraft in flight, and Aerial Photography of AIrcraft in Flight. They're actually administered by AzTraveller, but I'm looking after them in his absence. An updated bersion of each file will be posted in the Transportation Section every day.

This will make sure that you can see all up-to-date placemarks, so you'll instantly know if your find is original.

The other neighbourly thing to do is, if you do accidentally duplicate a placemark, or post one in error, is to remove it, to avoid cluttering GE. I'd do it for you, but I don't have editor privileges.
