Re: Moore - White Family Cemeter

This is an interesting post. Normally I cringe a bit when posts in History Illustrated Forum shade off merely toward “what happened in the past” and away from “events, people, and places that shaped the lives of significant numbers of others that were not directly involved,” but your post caught my attention sufficiently to make me download it. Your photographs and the specific details you provided about your exploration of the place reminded me that the lives and ways of living of people who (like most of us) send forth only tiny ripples, really have a place in history, too.

And genealogists will love it. I pasted a random name from your list into a search engine within a short time after you posted, and already your post was at the top of the search results.

If you ever decide to revise your post, I’d suggest you provide some sense of the location for the benefit of those who access it from this forum, rather than from Google Earth itself, where of course the location is obvious. You also left me wanting to know a little more about the history of the farm and the region.

Nice work. I hope to see more of it.
