No, it is not Deepcut Barracks - that's a few miles to the west of this location, and it does not have a range of its own. You are looking at Bisley Camp, the home of the National Rifle Association in the UK. There are ranges up to 1000 yards long. It used to be an army camp, but has been essentially civilian for a long time. The collection of ranges just to the west and all the associated buildings just south of the ranges are Pirbright Camp, a rather important British Army site. If you scroll a little further south you will find a large open space with ranges dotted all round it using the area as a safety zone for stray rounds. They are Stoney Castle Range (north east corner), Henley Park Range (south east corner) and Ash Ranges (south west corner). All of them are really good ranges to shoot at. |
