Here is a Google Earth version of the 1974 Geologic Map of the United States, published by the USGS.

This version uses the map data provided by William Menke and uses the Super Overlay feature of Google Earth 4. This overlay is the equivalent of viewing a 16,384 x 8,192 pixel resolution map in Google Earth.
