It used to be the case that scientific data consisted of journals not always accessible or useful to the general public. Now, many scientists are using Google Earth to publish their information, making it more understandable and accessible to the general public. One individual doing this is Dr. Mark Mulligan from Kings College, London. Working at the Environmental Monitoring and Modelling Research Group, Dr Mulligan has created many datasets available for viewing in Google Earth which provide extensive information on a range of environmental issues. Two of the more simple datasets are: Forest cover change and GNS places database He would be extremely appreciative if all of you could view these KML files and provide feedback on them for matters such as user experience, ways to improve - anything in fact! To send feedback to Dr. Mulligan, please e-mail him at the following address with your comments - feedback@ambiotek.com Thanks very much, Phil |
