It's hard to contemplate that these two men whom one might at best as amoral, provided New York City with two of its finest treasures. In the case of Carnegie, it was the Lions' share of the New York Public Library's 39 branch locations as described in this letter. And of course, Frick built his hut on 70th Street with the express intention of giving it away upon his death. (Thanks for the plug )
