Don't forget to try these other fine gallery tours! PLEASE...post your own ideas! . . .![]() Local <500k sq. mi. Regional <5 million Continental <15 mil. GLOBAL Anywhere WELCOME to Chaos'nControL ~CnC~ The Art Galleries of GAIA. This thread is a place you can come to get (or post your own) guided tours of the wonderful ART found here with Google Earth. Not just single pieces but creative tours that lead you effortlessly from scene to scene, with flying speed and camera moves taken into consideration as part of the SHOW. It is a place people can come and easily enjoy this wonderful scenery as works of art, collected in specific galleries. To get you started, I've put a few of my favorites together in the attached folder. If you like those and want to see more, or add your own, check out the sub-threads. For best viewing: ALL layers OFF except Terrain. Check the setting under 'Tools>Options>Control>Tour Pause Time'. Make sure it holds long enough (mine is 12 to 15 secs) to allow the streaming to complete with time left to enjoy the detail before flying off. Set screen resolution to the best you can. (my display is 1600 x 1200 and GE view set to 1024 x 1024 True Color). Don’t forget to disable any screensavers or power off options. If you'd like to see the labels, check mark the folder 'ON'. F11 to 'Full Screen'. F10 to 'Play Tour’. After that, sit back and RELAX! When making YOUR OWN tour, remember; flow is EVERYTHING. Top to bottom, left to right, big to small or visa versa. Jumping around can make some people dizzy and not everyone has the hottest box with fiber to the house. Use about 10 to 20 images per tour (15 x 20 secs = 5 mins) to keep the viewer entertained and interested, ADD runs rampant. Try to POST to the correct gallery, considering other users bandwidth and vertigo (motion sickness). You know what I mean, let's put some thought into it and HAVE FUN !!!! Square mileage is just a guideline. It's all for the flow of the tour and the download of data. Under the sub-threads there are different themes and genres. You'll get the idea. The galleries I started with are all nature related. Mostly modern, abstract scenery. I tried to keep man-made anything out of the frame. It might be grouped in some specific 'playlist' or you could break it down by things like rivers and deltas, deserts, lava floes, clouds, coastlines or fractals. Be CREATIVE! If you already have your own tours posted somewhere else, please feel free to link to them here. As a matter of fact some of the existing BBS threads like Keyhole Art/Google Art (thx Hill), Our Beautiful Earth (thx Seer) and Art Shots (thx blt) got me started on the idea of a collection of guided tours. ENJOY!!! trvlnman ![]() ~CnC~2005 |
