edited 9/30/05: overlays adjusted to match new higher res imagery for the area Several threads already about possible locations of Atlantis: http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=general&Number=7924 http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=general&Number=14815 http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=overlay&Number=13168 http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=general&Number=16593 but I don't see one for this theory as reported by BBC News last June. According Dr. Rainer W. Kühne (University of Wuppertal, Germany) working on a theory proposed by Werner Wickboldt, the lost city could have been in a salt marsh region known as Marisma de Hinojos on the southern Spanish coast, in an area destroyed by a flood between 800 BC and 500 BC. They believe satellite photos show the two temple sites amid a series of concentric rings and other geographic features as described by Plato in Critias and Timaios. I placed the overlay images in this folder per a lengthy discussion by Dr. Kühne on this forum Maybe it's true. |
