Part of the Dungeness National Nature reserve and an SSSI. This is a wonderful place for birds throughout the year from the first Spring migrants: sand martins, wheatears, redstarts etc through Summer with its hobbies circling high for insects and the grebes (Great Crested and Little plus some visitors). Autumn has green and common sandpipers, greenshank and flocks of finches and lapwing. In Winter you can see wigeon, pintail goldeneye and smew, some bitterns plus Bewick's and whooper swans.
