Just a small point, aren't the numbers backwards? The cardinal points look fine, but you have the 45 & 315, and 225 & 135 numbers flipped. Between N and E should be 45?

(They are 'backwards' to normal in a the screenoverlay version, because the 'N' is the pointer, but in this version that rotates there is a virtual pointer (which could be implemented as a screenoverlay

at the top, which marks the direction on the rose)
