Most of the GS (Google Sky) data comes from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS). It has captured images of I'm guessing 10s-1000s of millions of galaxies too faint to be seen before. I looked (I think) at the coords you supplied and the galaxies there are faint and distant. (I'm relatively new here as well, I'm not sure I used lat and long right -- it's easier with GS if you supply dec and RA -- declination and right ascension).

I think that all the SDSS galaxies are kind of automatically assigned a number. There is an interesting crowdsourcing project for going through these and classifying their type: spiral (clockwise or counterclockwise), elliptical, merger, or not a galaxy. It's kind of fun.
