Terrain Data Errors North of Charlotte, NC

Beautiful pinnacles, though. Set TERRAIN = 3x

An excellent find !

Worldwide, false mountains are quite rare: New Zealand, the Canary Islands, Pennsylvania, and California. This will go into the Data Error Compendium, which I'm laboriously updating from the recent global image update.

I live just up the road in Cary, so I'll have to go mountain climbing on our next trip to Myrtle Beach.

Re: An excellent find !

Thanks Price. I just stumbled across them. What are they caused by? A stray elevation data point?

Cary? We're almost neighbors. Are you in the high res area next to Carrboro? My in-law family are all from and still in Durham and I get to Raleigh for work stuff about once a month. Also have numerous professional colleagues in Cary.
