This post contains sub-posts with vector image collections / layers of rail lines for European railway systems.
These lines should be newer and more accurate than those provided in the Railroad layer.
As there is a large amount of data (>300000 lines), collections / layers are distributed by country. For example, use the sub-post "Railways of Europe: Rail lines (F)" for rail lines of France and Finland.

I took a train trip around Europe, and wanted to be able to show the route in Google Earth; is there an efficient way to remove the lines within this .kml to show only the paths I took?

Czech Republic: Post Valery35 contains up to incredibly detailed information, for example, also over private rails, private sidings, works sidings and industrial and cruise railways. Given the scope of publications, however, some routes have become obsolete and not up-to-date.
Prague Main Railway Station - Prague-Liben: trains travel along a route, called the New link, built for higher speed trains.
Prague Main Railway Station - Prague-Vysocany: trains go by the New link too.
The New link is on the frames of Prague shown as under construction.
Brezno - Chomutov: trains travel along a new route through Drouzkovice and Sporice. This new line is not on the frames of Czech republik.
Ceska Trebova – Zabreh na Morave: trains travel along a new route (corridor)
