I'd like to know if there is any way to set parameters to see how much of any given area will go under water if the sea level rises by a given amount. Is there any layer feature that will do this? Thanks |

Hi Tony, Click my placemark. It includes an overlay of Europe after a 100 metre sea level rise. Although I didn't do enough Googling to find a picture of the whole world (that would still look good on GE), so you might want to see if you can find a picture of the world after a rise in sea level and post it for us. But mine should give you a head start. Happy Googling!! |

A quick search revealed this for North America: http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/showflat.php?...true#Post166930 (searched for '+Sea +Level' ) But even better is the network link at this page: http://bernhard.sterzbach.de/geflood.html which you can set the height to what ever you want and it works anywhere in the world! (searched for 'Height' in the Dynamic Data Layers Forum) |

Assuming this works, this is great. I thought the graphics Al Gore used in his new film were so effective. Everyone should be able to see the effects of sea-level rises for themselves, to see what part of their vital infrastructure will be wiped out in the next 50 years. (Also useful for home-buyers!)
