How to get buildings onto the 3D Buildings layer?
|
|
I know that buildings can be shared by posting .kmz files on the community, but how do buildings get onto the 3D Buildings layer in GE? I've got some SketchUp models of landmark buildings -- is this process mediated by Google?

You cannot add your 3D geometry to the GE Buildings layer. Sorry!

Are you sure? A friend of mine uploaded his house to the 3D warehouse three months ago. We can now see his house by simply turning on the 3D buildings layer. So, I suppose GE guys added the warehouse content to the GE layer.
My question is: Are they also going to add the community 3D models to the GE layer? Or, if I want my model to be seen, do I need to upload it to the 3D warehouse or just post it on the community forums?
Thanks,

Upload it to the 3D Warehouse and if meets some basic quality guidelines it'll be added to the "Best of 3D Warehouse" layer when it is next refreshed.
