Starlifters at Travis?
|
|
Surprised these haven't been marked already. These look like Starlifters to me, they look too long for Globemasters and too thin for Galaxies, I could be wrong though...
What do you reckon?

Actually they are C-5's, although they do look kinda thin, the spacing of the engines and the T-tails give them away, plus Travis only operates C-5s and KC-10(which you can see a few of northeast of the C-5s). A random other cargo jet may be stopping by since it is Mobility Command.

Correct...although they do look like the 141, they are the C5. Perhaps the resolution playing tricks on us. Using the measure tool, the wingspan and length are well over 200 feet, and the only plane that big is the C5 (well, of the three carge planes mentioned anyway). But yeah, I thought they were 141's as well. Check out Westover AFB...they also fly the C5, and the photo is slightly better resolution.

I have not seen nor heard weather the planes could be our new C-17, Globemaster, the C-141 has been retired and is taken over by the C-17 Globemaster.
