My freind told me that this is a great place to have a holiday, pitty we on Earth have not learnt the science of Light Travel and how to survive it, maybe in the next 100 years.

We don't currently have the technology to detect planets in other galaxies, so this is a mere speculation that a planet exists here. Most known planets outside our solar system are within 100 light years of Earth.
As for travel, its not just the speed but the energy used to get to Alpha Centauri would require most of the matter in the universe to be lost.
