Blocked out images

Why is a large portion of the sky blacked out near Thackeray's Globules? along with the blacked out image to the lower left of orion, I believe that this is at the very least a gross oversight, and think it's a little odd that it is not being fixed.

The extraterrestrial beings that live there are communist and ordered GE to black out that portion of space or they would invade and make us their pets????

SWEET I was hoping thats what it was.... now I can get off this planet...  I hope they don't make me go for walks!
