This animation is 160 overlay images extracted from a youtube video.
it includes the original youtube video in a balloon window.
Double Click the Model folder under Places to Zoon to model location after Sky starts up.
looks kinda cool with the time slider options set to bounce
youtube credits
Check DLT's Thread for this model at its correct location in SKY, the thread also has additional animations

Thanks Phil,
I am really impressed the way the new GE handles multiple image overlays. Faster loading and smoother display transitions.
In the model, crab = 320x240 extracted image sequence @ 60% compression. I oriented it in the upper left of the ge display to hide the images upper left corners.
the 2 small solar systems use the same set of images (2 kml's 1 set of images) 320x240, i think i pushed the compression a bit high 80%, each kml set has different transparency, binding box size and location. The larger of the 2 still shows image borders even with the transparency setting a bit high.
the supernova mpeg was made transparent and laid over a screen capture of the ge star background and stretched horizonally which is why it shows little if any image frame outline.
I noted from a few of your recent models you are quite nifty with image overlays.
keep on modeling.

The Nebula animation has been repositioned to its correct location in SKY.
Downloaded it from DLT's Thread on the Crab Nebula which is very informative.
Follow up posts in that thread include other animations as well.

This animation loads quicker and runs much smoother with the new GE release 4.3.7204.0836 (beta).
Animations are greatly enhanced with the new GE version.
