Google Earth Community: Google Moon updated

The original Google Moon was low resolution and, if you zoomed in close enough, you could see swiss cheese. The Google maps based version has taken things more seriously this time and provides better imagery overall and high resolution inserts with annotated placemarks for the Apollo landing sites.

Still needed: The far side of the moon and names on features outside of the landing sites. And of course a fully equipped GE type of Google Moon. (until then, be sure to take a look at the excellent Moon superoverlay by Forkboy2 ) .

But this GMaps version has a lot of nice details about the landing sites, so it's worth a look.
