At the suggestion of danescombe I have started a new thread for the Boychuk search at: http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/1081035/an/0/page/0
In the near future I expect danescombe, will go through and move our Boychuk search posts from this thread to the new thread.
The reason for this is so that we can have a thread dedicated entirely to the Boychuk search rather than mixing the Fossett search and Boychuk search together. This will greatly help new members who join to participate in the search for Ron Boychuk and will make our lives easier when we need to dig through old posts.
The first post of the new thread will be updated from time to time with the best available information.

If Ron Boychuks last know position was 150 kilometres WEST of Salmon Arm, What the hell are we doing searching imagery up around Revelstoke?
Remember some reports might be from non Aviation type of people and anything from South around to North IS West to them

Flight plan = no, no flight plan was filed.
I was under the impression that Canada was like Mexico and Flight Plans were required on ALL flights IFR/VFR

Spences Bridge is located at 50.421108,-121.341499 There's no need for us to look anywhere north east of there. According to our reports his last transmission was over Spences Bridge, and other reports say his last known location (radar) was about 150 Kilometres west of Salmon Arm. Which is around the Spences Bridge location. We need to concentrate our efforts south/west of there.
That is where I would think it's best to start our search...from the last known (verified) position of the Aircraft...unless there was severe weather there is usually no reason the backtrack your flight...well that and box canyons...

Okay, it looks like I'll have a busy day today and won't be getting all of the things done I had intended. I have just been interviewed by Vancouver BC radio station CKNW Newstalk 980. They will be calling me back this afternoon for a live talk show, between 4:40pm and 4:45pm Pacific Time. So if you are in the BC area and able to pick up CKNW 980 on the AM dial tune in. This should be an interesting day.

Theres a "listen live" button on the top right.
Nice job Ken...didn't even sound like a geek...good information got out..now just spread the word...need more airtime in the area to get the word out...

I had two or three earlier interviews today (including an earlier one for that radio station), which helped give me practice. I was still really nervous but at least I had the "talking points" down. I've had lots of practice not sounding like a computer geek on this because I keep having to explain what I'm doing to family and friends in non-technical terms. I will have a podcast interview tomorrow with AVWeb.

Russ Niles is doing the interview. He lives 50 miles from where Ron Boychuk went missing so he has a personal connection to this story.
Let's move this discussion to the new thread that I started for the Ron Boychuk search at: http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/1081035/page/0/fpart/1/vc/1
Hopefully the moderators will split the Boychuk posts off from this Fossett thread so that we can keep the two search discussions separate from each other.
