Sorry to be so late.

The more strange is that the glare visible in GeoEye2 comes from the black rock over the most suspect anomaly and not from itself. The question is: what is the white thing below this "magic" rock?

I hadn't planned to really announce this yet, but obviously folks are getting restless. As I keep eluding to, I am building a website for our endeavor. You can see what has been built at http://InternetSAR.org.

It isn't much to look at yet and the graphics design will come later. Right now I'm simply building the nuts and bolts of things. As of this moment the KML overlay generator I have been hosting on EnvironmentalChemistry.com is available on InternetSAR.org and both generators are pulling data from the same database so it doesn't matter which site you use. I have also completed the user registration routines so that people can now register and log into the the site.

Currently I am building a whole new KML overlay generator designed to be more flexible in order to handle imagery from multiple searches at once. I am also working with others to streamline the object reporting process and (this is what you want to hear) someone is working with me to acquire new imagery. As they say seeing is believing, so you will only know for sure that the new imagery will happen if and when I am able start providing access to it on the new site.

So that everyone knows access to any new imagery and participating in any future search efforts will require people to log into the site and registration will require a valid email address (much like the old MTurk process). Even downloading overlays will require people to be logged in. This log in process will require the acceptance of cookies. The database does store passwords in an encrypted fashion and user session cookies are also encrypted strings. I am asking folks for their country and postal/ZIP code. This may be used to generate an anonymous KML overlay showing where in the world participants in this project are from (low priority task).

Please note that the new site is really at an "alpha" stage and there may be intermittent "outages" on it as I muck around with code to get things to do what I want. With that said, please report any error messages you might see.

That's awesome! I'm sure I speak for everyone in saying that we appreciate all the work you have been doing.

And you may be acquiring new imagery? I'm curious as to where the location is. I wish it was the 6-inch pixel size high-resolution imagery that the Fossett team took after they shut down MTurk. Too bad we couldn't have that imagery when they are finished with it.....

Probably a light effect, but what an incredible size and shape correspondence again

PS: serious individuals must have a good laugh to see us still looking for an intact plane, but I prefer your overactive imniginitation to their defeatism.

To be still looking weeks after the MTurk process shut down, we are either very determined or certifiably .

All those with Asperger's syndrome please raise your hands.

Excuse my ignorance, but what exactly would be required too get images that are as good as those in San1?

Money or the right connections.

Thats narrowed it down then!

Wife asks court to declare Fossett dead

CHICAGO — The wife of millionaire adventurer Steve Fossett, who disappeared while flying his plane in September in rugged Western terrain, asked a court Monday to declare him legally dead.

"As painful as it is for Mrs. Fossett, other members of the family and his many friends, it is time to initiate this process," said attorney Michael A. LoVallo, who filed the petition in Cook County Circuit Court.

The request was a step toward resolving the legal status of Fossett's estate, which according to court papers is "vast, surpassing eight figures in liquid assets, various entities and real estate," LoVallo said.

Bit hungry, must have cheeseburger's syndrome, cant raise my hands though as i might miss my mouth. I dont mind my imagination being overactive and anyone welcome to laugh if they want. Chance of an intact plane, prob zero, but will continue to search through the best imagery available and post what i see, intact shadow/crumpled shadow/tree/rock/sage, whatever. Am more than happy if others view and discount/enlighten me about the 1% of images viewed that i post, because i havent been able to discount them myself.
Have stuck to San1 due to image quality, tried Turk, decided within about half an hour, that i wouldnt be able to spot a double deck bus, let alone a small plane, so went back to S1. Still going N/S at 600ft, evidently i have too much time on my hands.
Will check out your site Ken, an like the poss new logo.
