Wow Norm, this is amazing! It must have taken you ages to put it all together. Now when I organise my long delayed trip to New Zealand, I'll know exactly where to go!

This is a superb post, lots of hard work in compiling this long list of museums and historical places in New Zealand; 5 stars from me.
However, it's really sad and distressing that some exhibits, at the Motat Museum in Western Springs in Auckland, were burnt down on saturday and is suspected to be an arsonist's work.
see Arson Attack at Motat reported in the New Zealand Herald, Saturday, March 1st.

Unfortunately the damage was confined to the Vintage Railway Carriage which was destroyed. But Fortunately it was far enough away from other exhibits that they were not damaged.

Hi Norm,
Just letting you know that the placemark for the Kaiparoro Historic House seems to be out of place. According to their website they are about 1.5kms north of Mt Bruce bird reserve but your placemark shows it as being in a paddock a couple of kms south.
Kind regards joe
