Pages: 1 starbaby Tourist Reged: 03/04/08 Posts: 2 newbie needs help please       #1125868 - 03/04/08 09:42 AM Edit   Reply   Quote   Quick Reply   Hello all, sorry to jump in and start asking questions as soon as I arrive but I have just downloaded the free version of google earth for my 9yr old daughter to complete some homework. the website and program was recommended by her teacher, however, I havn't a clue how to use this program and I'm not very computer literate. she needs to star gaze and take a closer look at Orion. I have watched the demo and it says to click the sky button. but alas I have no such thing once I run the program. when I click view and scroll down their is no switch to sky option. I can not search locations. etc I'm totally baffled!! Have I downloaded the wrong thing or need to purchase another program or add on the access the stars? please help I would really like her to use this program and gain as much information she can. thanks for taking the time to read this. After GE has initialized, go to the drop down menu up top on the left side. Click on "View" then go down the list and click on "Switch to Sky". (There is also a little Sky icon in the tool bar for when you become a little more familiar with the viewer.) Once GE has connected to the Sky server, just type Orion into the search box and hang on, you will be flown straight to a view of him. Have fun and enjoy, Cheers. I have downloaded it again and now have the full version and she has been looking at the world above. I was amazed as the program led us to orion. I can see this is going to just a much fun for all the family. I can't believe over 100 views to this post and only you replyed.
