Hi!
first post here..
I thought I'd share what I created this afternoon... had a look around the forums, and don't think anyone else has done this..
The Bureau of Meterology in Australia publishes Radar images, that show current rainfall, around all major capital cities in Australia.
They also do a neato 4-frame animated gif, but unfortunatly, Google Earth doesn't display animated gifs as overlays (well, it does, but only 1 frame) You can go to the page I linked to, to see the animation.
I've spent a few hours doing this, and I've gotten each overlay lined up nearly perfectly! the IR Satellite image is a bit distorted, however.
Enjoy!

Hi, I have been doing the same thing this afternoon.
This is what I came up with. Seems to work here, but I dont really know what I'm doing, so I hope it works for everybody else.
>Edited.
Update -
I have changed the refresh rate of the 'Jetstream' overlay as the linked image updates a lot less. The 'Current Oz Weather' sometimes needs a manual refresh to get going?
Rainfall radars, temp, humidity, wind, windchill and satellite overlays remain the same.
Cheers.

yup.. works fine here I see you used weatherzone, wheras I just used the 'official' source.. the BOM
I might sit down at sift through more of BOM's content and do some more overlays.. would be cool if they started doing transparent ones.

G'day,
'just started using Google earth. Do the BOM images auto-refresh? If not what do I need to do to update the images?
Regards Mic.

Nice work! What you did is very useful. I just watched a storm pass over my place.

G'day From Sydney!
I am just venturing into trying to understand Google Earth and all it's features. I have found the footage over Sydney to be quite old. But my question to you is could you please outline a step by step way I could see the weather for my area using what you have produced and Google earth? I would really appreciate your help....
Thanks,
Mark

All you need to do is just adjust the transperancy.
