به وسیله‌ی مجموعه ستارگان «دبّ اکبر»: صورت فلکی دبّ اکبر شامل هفت ستارره‌است که به شکل ملاقه قرار گرفتته‌اند: چهار ستتاره‌ی آن تشکیل یک ذوزنقه را می‌دههند، و سه ستتاره‌ی دیگر مانند یک دنباله در اددامه‌ی ذوزنقه قرار گرفتته‌اند. هر گاه دو ستااره‌ای که لببه‌ی بیرونی ملاقه را تشکیل می دهند)دو ستاره قااعده‌ی کوچک ذوزنقه؛ لببه‌ی پییاله‌ی ملاقه؛ محلی که آب از آن‌جا میریزد( را ]با خطی فرضی[ به هم وصل کنیم، و 5 برابر فااصله‌ی میان دو ستاره، به سمت جلو ادامه دهیم، به ستتاره‌ی قطبی می‌رسسیم.http://fa.wikipedia.org/wiki/جهت‌یابی
