Spooks of the English North

A tour of some of the many places in Lancashire and Yorkshire, in the great north of England, that have been haunted by various spirits – fairies, goblins, huge hounds, poltergeists and something uniquely northern called "boggarts". 'Eee by gum!

Recommended websites:
The Paranormal Database
The Cottingley Fairies
The Pendle Witches
Jack Nadin's boggart lore
And gheywood has posted the Witches Galore shop in Newchurch here, but you ought to also see the shop's terrific website – take the kids there on Hallowe'en!

EDITED AUG 2007: One of the localities on this tour has been deleted due to objections from the proprietor over outdated information and "inaccuracy". If you have previously downloaded this KMZ, please replace it with this version.
MAY 2008: Crustynudger has nudged me to the correct ghost-sighting site at Clowbridge Reservoir (not Clowridge Reservoir as I'd originally copied from an erroneous website and indicated arbitrarily for lack of coordinates). It makes sense now.

The submitted point for Clowridge Reservoir is incorrect. The reservoir you have marked is actually Mitchell House Farm Reservoirs. I live nearby.

Regards.

I wasn't sure which one was Clowridge when I placed the marker, Crusty, so I just chose a "scenic" view. If you know the right one, can you pass on the coordinates, please?
Thanks,
Paul

True coordinates for "Clowbridge" (correct spelling) Reservoir are:
-2.26805°
53.7486°
Right next to Clowbridge village.
Sorry for the delay.
