There is a whole bundle of subs at a shipyard in Kiel, Germany:
looks like a 206-class on the left and a 212 or 214-class in the middle. No idea about the right one though.
Bye, Matthias
btw: there are three more subs to the east...

Ah, sorry Munden,
I've just seen that you've had a look to Kiel before me and you did a better job identifying the subs...

Hey there,
on the left it's a 206, in the middle on the shiplift, a 214, and the right one is a 209. In the southern corner you will find a 212 and in the drydock to the east two GAL subs (Israel).
Have Fun

I read all of the posts on this thread and instead of posting again that the subs mentioned in the original post are training subs, I thought someone on here may like to know that the subs are not capable of moving under their own propulsion but they do have reactors that do work, and are operated, although severly limited. The subs are not permanently moored, as one of them has been moved out of the charleston area right now for maintenance, it will return when the maintenance is complete. And even if the staff or students were asked what it is that is done there, the best answer would probably be as previously stated that New Nuclear operators are trained there on how to stand watch, how to qualify and how to be safe nuclear operators (anything beyond this is classified anyway). There is a Nuclear Power Training Unit similar to this facility in NY State outside of Ballston Spa, but, there are no subs in the water there.

The submarines at Bremerton that are moored together are inactive and waiting to be cut up. They usually sit pier side and pretty much collect rust for years and years until the yard gets around to finally cutting them up. Its also a slow process because there's a lot of planning that has to go into cutting up and recycling a nuclear vessel. Currently, the only two ships being cut up the USS South Carolina (CGN-37) and USS Triton (SSN-586).

Still haven't quite figured out how to post pictures yet but here are some coordinates. Its to one of the piers at Portmouth Naval Shipyard in New Hampshire/Maine. And as you can see there are two Los Angeles class subs docked there.

Now that I've learned to read, I know that the White Sea and Black Sea Russian boats were already tagged. The others appear to be new finds though. Gotta love that Iranian sub.

To counterbalance the Pakistani Subs already tagged in Karachi, here we have an Indian Sub hauled out in the Mumbai dockyards. There are three others about 1/2 mile west.
