Hello and welcome.
There's a whole world to see, but there are some things you can do to see it better.
If a place is well known or famous for some reason, there is always a good chance that another member has posted it before. There are two main ways to help you to see what others have placemarked and posted.
First, it is always a good idea to check the Google Earth Community Forum layer, which is where previous placemarks are identified (it is updated every few months, so a placemark you post today will be in there soon). To activate the layer, just check the box.
The second is to use the SEARCH page. This method will detect posts too new to to have been included in the layers.
To add new information about a feature which has already been placemarked, make a reply to the placemark and post already in place. You can access the original post by left-clicking on it and then left-clicking on the link.
If you discover that you have mistakenly added a duplicate placemark, It is good GEC etiquette to remove it by editing your post and choosing the "DELETE" option.

Hello TheLedge and 1Pirata3
I think it is unacceptable to ask a new member to check all 12 GEC layers and to read all threads behind this non-saying layers to find out what it is. Why not tell him about the layers and the unknown object? In the near future we have 20, 40 or 100 placemarks there and it will get more unacceptable to ask others to check them all.
It is an inactive bomb target.
Best Regards, Felippo

Hi Felippo -
I guess I would also add something like, "It's highly unlikely that anything you see on Google Earth, or on real earth, has anything to do with UFOs."
-------------------- Women for Women International - For the special needs of women surviving war.
Kiva - Small loans changing lives around the world.
Bukavu Foundation - For the Panzi Women's Shelter & other programs in Eastern Congo.
Room to Read - Change begins with educated children.

Hi Diane
I like your suggestion. Let me expand it.
.....and it's highly unlikely that UFO's have anything to do with Aliens. We live in a cosmic isolation, we are prisoners of time and lost in the huge displacement.
Best Regards, Felippo

It's also likely that if they have the technology to travel across the universe to visit our world, they don't need targets drawn on the ground to be able to land.

It's also likely that if they have the technology to travel across the universe to visit our world, they would also have the technology to observe us from a safe distance, then turn around and quickly fly away. Rather than get involved with the mess that has been created on this planet.

That's logic.
Ufology is a belief not a sience, and belief has nothing to do with logic.
