Hello, first post.
I would like to ask about this large area in the Chukotka region of NE Russia that is heavily blurred out.
The proximity of it to early warning stations in Alaska, plus being only 3000 miles or so from pretty much the entire continental United States makes me think it's probably a large ICBM base.
Curious. Thoughts? More information?

I don't think that it is censored. The resolution in this area is so bad that a censorship is unecessary.
Regards, Felippo

Hi S'n'C and welcome to GE
Check this out: Russia: Chukotskiy censored by blurring, noted 23 July 2005 and 18 February 2006. Instead of blurring, Microsoft's Virtual Earth copied a nearby image and placed it on the area
Have fun and keep searching. Bye b

This is a known censored area (for reasons unknown). See bebop's "here" link.

It's an UFO base linked underground with Area 51.

Well...I doubt it to be silos....It is relativeley flat....but ther would need to be some way of getting to the silos to keep them secure and active....There are no roads that lead to the area.....Maybe the river or by air...but there would be much more development somewhere closer if it was to have been a silo....

The only ballistic missiles base in Chukotka was near Anadyr during the cold war, now deactivated. Under the blured area there is no base or silos for ballistic missiles.
