the miđlína bridge connects two continental tectonic plates. a picture displaying iceland and it's oceanic floors can be found here.




as the american and eurasian tectonic plates are drifting apart, it actually increases iceland's land mass by a few milimeters each year.




the bridge between the two continents can be reached on highway 44 south of hafnir, near sandvik on the reykjanes peninsula

Very interesting, kite surfer, thanks for this information! I had no idea that Iceland is growing! All-in-all, it's a geologically dramatic place, isn't it?
